The goals of the Motiance Dance School

  • To provide inexpensive healthy after school activities to children, teenagers and young adults.
  • To create education in dance, allowing those who want to pursue a career in dance or teaching dance to do so.
  • To combine recreational after-school activities with high standard dance training in as many as possible styles on all levels.·
  • To specially target the teenagers, providing them with positive, club-kind surroundings to discourage them to engage in unwanted negative activities.
  • To present dance performances to the parents and the general public in order to educate and entertain
  • To maintain a Motiance Dance Company, Junior Company and Motiance Adult Dance Company who present productions to the general public.
  • To organize workshops for educators who wish to have more tools for teaching dance and movement in regular education.
It is the policy of the school to provide inexpensive activities and to cater to as many possible children of all walks of life.
Scholarships are given frequently to those who can ill afford;
Second and third child in the family receive discounts;
Children from the children’s homes receive scholarships or discounts.
Scholarships are requested to the director.

The school chooses from its talented and dedicated dancers a performing company.
For fundraising functions of non-profit and government organisations the company performs for a small costume fund fee. For commercial enterprises the company can be hired for various prices depending on the wishes of the client.
There has been a continuous need for dance performers in the Hotel and Hospitality industry, but the main focus of the Motiance Dance Company is to be a multi styled, versatile group, of which the dancers are trained in Classical Ballet, Jazz and Modern Dance and in Caribbean Folklore and Afro Caribbean Dance. At present the Motiance Dance Company performs at the Toppers Restaurant in Simpson Bay every Thursday at 8.30 in the Latin Night, or Cabaret or Chicago.

The mission of the school is to be a club-type second family for youngsters who dance, perform and receive dance training. This training can lead to a career in dance and/or teaching dance.
